Like many others who struggle with Tigger I am currently unsupervised I know it freaks me out too but the possibilities are endless shirt. I need these things as much as our kids do! Thank you, Rachel! End of the school year and beginning of summer can be stressful but your words help me! I am grateful for my precious special education students to have taught me what words build up souls when they are feeling defeated! Thank you for being here to encourage me to keep writing and sharing. The other one struggles with add and is a challenge on a daily, if not hourly basis!

It used to be what you talked to for Star Wars may the skills be with you shirt. You ask me about my dreams, my drawings, my latest jokes, and darkest fears. Your eyes, no longer summoned away by beeps, see me and hear me. I received an unexpected public apology this morning from a woman who had strongly rejected the notion of living hands-free. But she has since experienced what I’ve discovered – the peace, the awareness, the connection, and the fulfillment that comes from having healthy boundaries on technology.

My heart just stopped beating when I see that you’ve already met the twins shirt. I am so so sorry about the loss of your beloved cat and as a special ed teacher, I understand how hard that conversation and the days ahead will be. To know that my post today helped you tonight brings such peace to my heart. I will be thinking of your family and saying a special prayer tonight.  I offer yard work. I’ll mow, I’ll hire a service, I’ll weed or plant or mulch.

I am so thankful you have so many who have offered up meals, laundry and listening ears during this time. And this holds true for those days or weeks when you’re feeling overwhelmed by a stressful life situation. The worst thing a person can do in response is a nod and then recount how much worse they’ve had it than you in the past – and to add insult to injury.

Sending love your way. Sometimes the tears need to fall and we feel better when they do. When I read this post this morning I had absolutely no idea that I was going to need this information tonight. I just had to tell my autistic son that his favorite cat died today. This post led me through helping him express his grief. I know this will be an ongoing process and is extra difficult for him since emotions are hard for him to identify and process.

Trying to understand all the lessons that she showed me, but never showed me how to live without her. She passed the day before Mother’s Day, so you can imagine the pain, the emptiness I feel every year. But there is not a day in my life that I don’t miss her, I can only wish I can hear her voice one more time. Sending you so much love, dear one. My heart goes out to you. My prayer is that you remember something special about her that you may have forgotten – perhaps a smell or a taste or a song will bring back a memory over the next couple weeks.

And then I realize I’ve poured time into my device trying to live a life away from my device. What is the balance? Perhaps if I shut it all down I will hear what I need to hear, but what if I miss something, you know? I try to protect those time increments and they vary in how long they are, but my family knows I am present then and they are present for me.

Not remembering to hand in notes and so missing out on sport – doing detention instead, no less!! Forgetting which day was photo day. She gets notes scribbled in her books, accusing, shaming notes. People assume she’s lazy or stupid, which couldn’t be further from the truth. She’s labeled disobedient or naughty – she so isn’t. Despite communication from me, the signs I asked they keep an eye out for have all been missed.

I carry it on little slips of paper in case I run into someone who needs it. Truth be told, I often need it. I see her maturing and taking responsibility for all the steps needed to apply for college in the fall, for the charity she created with a friend, for running for a seat on senior Senate, for the jobs she has lined up for the summer, for the way she nurtures the kids she babysits, for being a great kid that has risen above the peer pressure and surrounded herself with other great kids.
